The W3C consortium is the international regulatory
authority, particularly in charge of the establishment of Web
operation norms. Besides technical aspects, its president, Jean-Franois
Abramatic, wanted to enlarge the initial consortium mission by
working on more fundamental subjects such as democratization of
network access.

Rhone-Alpes (France) concerning the exchanges of structured
knowledge made public by the media. The semantic Web, an
expression attributed to Tim Berners-Lee, co-inventor of the Web,
is at the heart of Exmo concerns; Exmo develops tools that use
the available structured languages (XML, RDF et OWL).

Rhone-Alpes (France) that succeeds the Sirac project. Research
addresses the architectures of reflexive systems within distributed
