The fuzzy interface,
a tool for idea association

We, more often, reason by concept. This is why we can, for instance, solve a complex problem by breaking it down into more elementary concepts.

In our daily experience, our perception of the world is made possible through its representation in the form of finite elements and delimited sets. This finite characteristic of concepts causes all the difficulty of modeling, dynamic and moving phenomena, as well as the idea genesis within a group of individuals.

When concept representation is frozen, as is the case for a printed document, but also for a Web page, interaction opportunities between concepts are not immediately perceivable. Especially when the environment changes in the meantime. If the interface makes use of the dynamic properties of interactions between users and information, it becomes a tool of idea association. The interface becomes, as a result, a fuzzy interface.
