Typology of an information search through
the Web is very similar to that of a course through a maze
for it often leads to dead ends that require going back.

Bifurcations occurring during hypertext navigation
often leads to dead ends
The role of Web site visitors is too often
limited to opening doors in order to check information hidden
behind and that does not interest them.
Allowing each one of us to present an idea, a view point, our
private life, photos or our drawing tabletsÉ; such was the Web
promise. But reality is different. Each site designer imposes
his or her own logic, often afar from that of the users. Access
to information goes most often in a chaotic way, nonlinear and,
at the end, with no logic order. How can one guess, for instance,
whatÕs behind a link? Intelligent network interfaces will neglect
hypertext to the benefit of XLink (1) links. More advanced,
bi-directional and qualifiable, they function within the frame
of XML recommendation.
