Knowledge mapping:
first steps toward fuzzy interfaces
The most recent research tools (1) on
the Internet are meta-engines with interfaces allowing for information
mapping.
Two-dimension representation brings complementary information
that does not appear in the classic search engines: that of links,
generally key words, that bring together, or separate, the proposed
answers. Each answer is a small island in the middle of the information
ocean. Lexical relations appear like bridges between these islands.
Today, use of these new interfaces is still a little bit intuitive.
The RU3 project counts on the use of new more powerful concepts
that will allow fuzzy interfaces to easily handle the structured
information.
